About

Welcome to The Bloom Project — a therapeutic space where healing is nurtured, creativity is honoured, and you are supported to become the author of your own story.

Founded on trauma-informed principles and guided by the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, The Bloom Project offers a compassionate, holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing. Here, all parts of you are welcome — even the ones that feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure.

Meet Your Therapist

Hi, I’m Gemma, a mental health clinician with Master’s degrees in Occupational Therapy and Clinical Family Therapy. I’ve worked across the lifespan with children, adolescents, and adults in both public and private settings, including specialist roles at St Vincent’s Hospital MelbourneAustin Health, and The Royal Children’s Hospital.

My clinical focus includes:

·       Eating disorders

·       Grief and loss

·       Systemic family and couples therapy

·       Somatic and creative practices for performers and athletes

Before becoming a therapist, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in dance at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). That background continues to shape my work today — I believe movement, creativity, and occupational balance are essential parts of recovery. I often integrate somatic and energetic practices to support clients in reconnecting with their bodies and inner resources.

How I Work

My approach is warm, intuitive, and grounded in deep respect for your lived experience. Therapy isn’t just about the hard stuff- we make space for laugher, lightness and everything in between.  I draw on a range of evidence-based therapies, including:

·       Internal Family Systems (IFS)

·       Mindfulness and meditation

·       Play and creative therapies

·       Sensory processing and body-based approaches

·       ACT

·       CBT/ CBTE

·       Havening

I’m committed to ongoing self-reflection and professional development, and I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and empowered to explore your healing at your own pace.

Outside the Therapy Room

When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me outdoors — at the beach, in the surf, walking my dog, or exploring somewhere in nature. I’ve traded the stage for spontaneous living room performances (my neighbours haven’t complained yet!), but creativity and play are still a big part of my life.
