Family Therapy

Family and Systemic Psychotherapy offers a supportive space to explore and work through the complex dynamics that can arise in close relationships. Whether you're navigating conflict, communication challenges, or life transitions, this approach helps individuals, couples, and families better understand each other and strengthen their connections. My work is deeply informed by the relational insights of Drs. John and Julie Gottman, Terry Real, and Esther Perel. These frameworks support couples and families in building emotional safety, fostering accountability, and reigniting connection — even in the face of long-standing patterns or pain. Working in partnership with clients, I help identify and build on the unique strengths of each person and the family as a whole. These strengths become valuable resources for creating meaningful, lasting change.

How Family Therapy Can Help

Family Therapy can support you to: Express thoughts and emotions in a safe, respectful environment to foster collaborative problem-solving. Understand the roots of relational patterns, roles, and behaviours that may be contributing to conflict or disconnection. Build confidence in your individual and collective strengths, using them to navigate challenges and deepen connection. Support loved ones through mental health concerns, trauma, grief, life transitions, or developmental changes. The term family is used inclusively and may refer to biological relatives, chosen family, partners, friends, or any significant relationships in your life. Depending on your needs, sessions may involve individuals, couples, the whole family, extended family members, or close friends.
